My first review of a pair of gloves comes from none other than the fabulous Joanie Clothing. They burst onto the vintage reproduction scene last year with 50’s and 60’s style clothing and accessories that are as cute as they are sassy.
I’ve placed a few orders with them, now owning a top, cardigan, dress, petticoat and pair of gloves from Joanie. I’ve received compliments on the gloves from both men and women.
Taken from Joanie’s website:
Believing that our look is for every body, Joanie’s pieces are always available in sizes 8-22. We are inclusive, not exclusive and celebrate individuals who know their own style; bringing them together as a united community where everyone is welcome.
As a brand, we’re inspired by decades past and life’s surprising details; whether it be an intricate print on a china tea set, pretty embroidery on a collar or the pastel washed houses lining sea front villages on the Italian Riviera.
I ordered the gloves as part of an order from the Joanie Christmas sale, and at £3.60, they were a steal. The black and white polkadots go with pretty much everything and the keyhole design with bows is adorable. They’re very sophisticated. They’re a great mix between being smart, pretty, formal and cute. They’re very versatile.
But not only do they look great, but they’re warm and the perfect size, too. They come in one size and I’d say my hands are a small-medium, so I’m not sure how they’d fit on larger hands.
Joanie don’t state what fabric they’re made from but they’re soft and thick. They feel very well made and only require a cool wash. They’ve been brilliant through the colder months. They’re practical and stylish.
The service from Joanie was great, as the order came within a few days of placing it. I had no troubles. If you’re quick, you may still be able to grab some of these, or some of their other gloves, in their clearance section, along with some other pretties.
I really like Joanie. They’re quickly becoming one of my favourite online retailers for vintage style clothing.
Overall, I’m really happy with the gloves and experience from Joanie and so will no doubt be ordering from them again. As a fairly new business, they’re doing well to cater for those of us who like the vintage style, with lots of fun and quirkiness.
I’ve managed to convince friends to order from Joanie, too!
